The Champagne Tower is Here to Stay

The traditional cake-cutting has been happening for hundreds of years, symbolizing different things, and looking quite different through the decades. But it seems as if 12-tier cakes are out & 1-3 tier cakes are in…and on top of that, more and more people are either cutting the cake alongside a champagne tower or doing away with a cake cutting completely.

If you are looking to add a touch of glamour to your event, consider putting your own spin on the classic champagne tower.
Not only does this luxurious feature add sparkle to your reception, but it becomes a captivating focal point, offering fun photo opportunities. The Gatsby-inspired vibe adds a coolness to your celebration, making it a memorable experience for you and your guests. And at my own wedding, a very interactive (wet) experience for the guests (lol).
Want to make your champagne tower stand out?
Consider pouring something other than champagne/prosecco over the top. Try pouring or staggering a pop of color on every other row such as rosé for a pink hue or blue chardonnay for a more bold look.
You also don't have to pour anything over the top.
This masterpiece is pretty enough on its own if you want to serve other beverages such as espresso martini, aperol spritz, daiquiri, or even margarita!

Now to build!
Creating a champagne tower is simpler than you might think.
Start by considering your table height and the number of glasses you can comfortably reach. You can use a tier system, decreasing in size, to determine the number of glasses needed per layer. If sourcing glasses seems daunting, your caterer or bar team may offer a hire option, or you can explore specialized glass hire firms.
However, Amazon also offers incredibly priced glasses in bulk! Here's the link to the ones I used at my wedding. I bought 5 cases of 6 glasses equaling 30 glasses total for a 4 tier look. I placed 16 glasses on the bottom, 9 glasses on top of the base, 4 glasses on top of that layer, and 1 on the top!
Aim for 6 to 8 tiers for a classic look, but even 3, 4 or 5 tiers can be stunning if styled well! To assemble, arrange glasses in a square formation, ensuring they touch at the edges for stability. Repeat this process for each layer until reaching the top.
Finally, for a ~different~ champagne tower look, choose fun and unique glassware to make a statement:
